The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield is an unusual story about a famous writer who has eluded the truth about her history for decades.
It begins when Vida Winters contacts Margaret Lea to write her story but Margaret doesn't want to deal in stories, she wants to deal in truths. Vida has promised to give the truth but in her time. Margaret is not allowed to ask questions because Vida wants to unfold the story in the proper order. Margaret has her own story though, one she has carried with her since she was ten and as time passes, she realizes that they're both haunted by ghosts of the past.
It was a very easy read.
I give it 3 1/2 points out of 5
